Summary
The Attorney role is key in representing clients in their family law cases for the purpose of elevating McKinley Irvin’s standing as the premier provider of family law services in the Pacific Northwest.
Observing the highest standards of professionalism and ethics at all times, responsibilities include delivery of timely and attentive service to both internal and external clients, representing clients in court including conducting hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, along with assistance in characterization, valuation, and division of assets and liabilities, among other duties noted below.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and ethics
- Produce exceptional work product free of substantive and grammatical errors
- Be an effective negotiator and litigator as directed by primary attorney
- Deliver attentive and consistent client service
- Conduct discovery and depositions as directed by primary attorney
- Organize arguments, and counterarguments and draft narrative declarations, pleadings, financial declarations, and motions as directed by primary attorney
- Assist in characterization, valuation, and division of assets and liabilities
- Work with experts as directed by primary attorney
- Prepare child support calculations as directed by primary attorney
- Engage in outlining strategy, legal arguments and counterarguments as directed by primary attorney
- Appear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as directed by primary attorney

Schedule: Flexible, Monday to Friday
Supplemental Pay: Quarterly bonus when meeting or exceeding goals
Work Location: Remote with the option to work at our offices in Portland, Oregon and/or Vancouver, Washington as desired.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Currently licensed in Washington State and in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association
- 3+ years of extensive and recent family law experience in the county assigned
- Possess outstanding technical legal expertise and analytical skills and is comfortable in a courtroom
- Extensive experience with complex discovery
- An effective negotiator and litigator
- Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and demanding environment
- solid understanding of complex cases and good with clients in this setting
- Ability to track and honor deadlines both internal and external
- Willingness to accept feedback and direction regarding work quality, work product expectations, and best practices
- Commitment to billing time daily, timely review of monthly pre-bills (if requested), and assisting with communication regarding collection of A/R as directed by primary attorney
- Must provide and maintain a personal smartphone for use with applications provided by the firm
- Detail-oriented with exceptional follow through
- Exceptional customer service and willingness to problem solve
- Ability to direct work product of legal assistants and/or paralegals in addition to supervising and training others to support complex litigation
- Collaborative demeanor with desire to work with and integrate into a diverse, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
